Celebrating the life of Glenda Ruth Taylor Haynie, 82, of Odessa. Graveside services will be held in Odessa at Sunset Memorial Gardens 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2017 where she will join her late husband Louis L. Haynie. Glenda was born January 14, 1935 in Electra, Texas to John Gilbert and Beulah Taylor and moved to Odessa with her parents in 1943. Celebrating the life of Glenda Ruth Taylor Haynie, 82, of Odessa. Graveside services will be held in Odessa at Sunset Memorial Gardens 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2017 where she will join her late husband Louis L. Haynie. Glenda was born January 14, 1935 in Electra, Texas to John Gilbert and Beulah Taylor and moved to Odessa with her parents in 1943. She attended school in Odessa and worked at the soda shop and the drive-in theatre where she met her future husband. They married in 1952. Glenda and Louis raised their family at Trinity Baptist Church before becoming longtime members of First Baptist Church in Odessa. Glenda graduated from Odessa Beauty College and worked as a beautician. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing, needlepoint and mostly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenda is survived by her son Louis Allan Haynie and wife Rhonda and daughter Susie Edwards and husband Jack all of Odessa and her daughter-in-law Karen Haynie of Oklahoma. She has 6 grandchildren, Kristi Cirolia and husband Bill and Dennis Haynie and wife Kaci all of Andrews, Texas, Dr. Michael Edwards and wife Virginia of Odessa, Texas, Jason Haynie and wife Amanda, Lori Smith and husband Dustin, and Judy Tanksley and husband Stephen all of Oklahoma. Glenda is also survived by her sisters, Eunice Wittie of Stephenville, Leona Wimberley of Junction, Jeri Noe of El Paso and sisters-in-law Deanie and JoAnn Taylor of Odessa. Glenda was blessed with 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband Louis Long Haynie, her son Bobby Joe Haynie, parents John and Beulah Taylor, brothers Clovis, Robert, Duane and Dearl Taylor and sisters Wanda Nell and Joletta Taylor and Francis "Mickie" Dumond. In Glenda's own words: "My family always came first! Was lucky to have found my lifelong partner in marriage. Grateful for the many lifelong friends and later everlasting friends.
